Great news to hear that the government says that it has stated its aim: "decisively to move away from coal". We wait with hope that this will take effect before those (Mr Ridley together with Banks mining) who are making a last greedy dash for coal can dig up a vast area of Northumberland next to our most beautiful of beaches- Druridge Bay.
Let's save Druridge Bay!

That Viscount Ridley has not made transparent his involvement in the Highthorn project is perhaps only to be expected. It was after all his uncle, Nicholas Ridley, who drew up the Tories' secret plan to defeat the National Union of Miners at the beginning of the 1980s.
Nor should it go unnoticed that Viscount Ridley in face of the overwhelming , near total, consensus in the scientific comunity continues to have doubts about the existence of man-made climate change. Druridge Bay is threatened by some very powerful and cynical people.
